Verobish to Host Car Seat Safety Event this Wednesday

BLAIR – Parents and guardians of young children are invited to have their car seats checked for safety and proper installation at Rep. Andrea Verobish’s (R-Blair) child safety seat inspection event this Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The event, which is completely free, will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the AAA Altoona office, located at 1634 Valley View Blvd. in Altoona. Certified technicians will be on-site to inspect individual car seats and check if they are fit for use.

Verobish is hosting the event in partnership with PennDOT, AAA and Pennsylvania State Police.

“Parents will invest in good, high-quality car seats for their infants and toddlers so they are safe and secure in a vehicle. But installing these seats correctly is a huge part of making sure kids are fully protected on the road,” Verobish said. “As a parent of two young girls myself, my goal with this event is to help give parents some peace of mind while they are driving with their children, and give them a few tips about installing these seats you might not be able to read in a manual.”

Participants are encouraged to bring their child, safety seats, vehicle manuals and safety seat manuals when possible.
